The notorious Hollywood womaniser has had his dating secrets exposed by a friend.

Pop singer Melissa Lefton has known singer John for over a decade and explained how he manipulates his two personalities to seemingly give women everything they are looking for in a partner.

"John basically has two personalities: the romantic, sweet, good guy you hear in his songs, and the player who loves 'em and leaves 'em," Melissa revealed to British magazine Grazia. "The guy has it all so he can get away with murder."

The rock star is involved in an on-off relationship with pop star Katy Perry.

The turbulent twosome were reported to have broken up last month after ladies' man John left divorcée Katy heartbroken.
