Johnny Ward WILL perform on DWTS tonight, saying it was his father’s wish

He announced the news that his dad passed away this morning.

The Dancing With The Stars contestant said that his father is now “pain free” in a emotional post.

The Coppers The Musical star took to Twitter to say: “Thank you all for your supportive messages regarding my father at this very difficult time.

“He is now Pain free. Thank you Dad for being the kindest, most supportive, incredible father anyone could ever ask for.”

He ended with the quote: “‘They never die who live in the hearts they leave behind’.”

However, after much speculation, Johnny revealed that he will dance in the competition tonight.

“I contemplated not taking part this week, but my dad’s dying wish was for me to keep going. So I’m dancing for him tonight,” Johnny said, with an RTÉ spokesperson adding: “We can confirm that Johnny will perform on the show.”

Johnny recently said that he felt guilty for taking part in the dance competition while his dad was so sick.

He told Dublin Live in February: “Some days you just don’t want to go in and you don’t want to rehearse but he is like, ‘Please do it’, and he looks forward to it so much, but God love him, he is not well enough to come in and see the shows.

“You want to be around but for him to turn around and say, ‘Go in and do it for me’, it gives me more inspiration to go into it.”
