Jools Oliver faced backlash over this innocent photo

People weren’t impressed for some reason.

Jamie Oliver’s wife Jools gave birth to their fifth child, son River last month.

Last week she posted a picture of herself to Instragram wearing pinstripe trousers.

She captioned it:

“Thank you to the fab girls@aceandjig finally ‘almost’ fitting into these gorgeous trousers so comfy post little baby and beyond @nadianarainthink we have finally found our perfect trousers ❤️ xxx”

While many people commented on the picture praising her for looking good others took great offence to the image, particularly the part about ”almost’ fitting into these gorgeous trousers so comfy post little baby and beyond.’

Some mothers felt that she was sending the wrong message about getting your post baby body back straight after birth.

“I am currently pregnant with my second baby,” “Every minute of every day I’m scrutinising my weight. Pictures like this by naturally slim women do not help!”

“Shouldn’t you be more concerned about bonding with your child rather than how quickly you fit back into your jeans?” Some comments said.

While many celebrity mothers have recently spoken out about the pressure to regain their figure after having a baby, and it is definitely a problem in society, we’re not sure Jool’s Oliver is contributing to that pressure.

The 41-year-old responded to the backlash in a long post.

“For God sake I still have heaps to lose, my t-shirt hides a lot,” she responded.

“It was merely a shout-out to the lovely girls who sent me the trousers nothing more I hardly ever put pictures up of myself and certainly not a ‘selfie’.

“I am confident with my body before, during and after pregnancy and totally get that things don’t go back to normal for at least six months to a year, if at all and after five babies, I should know.”

“As for bonding with my baby… I feel no need to address this it’s ridiculous.”

“So please next time if I irritate you just unfollow me it was just meant to be a nice pic of a pair of good trews.”

Jamie’s mother even chimed in on Instragram, praising her daughter in law for being a great parent.

“I was so incensed to read such puerile rubbish written by that dreadful woman about my lovely daughter-in-law, and to infer that she is not bonding with her new baby is beyond arrogant.

She is the most wonderful mother.”
