Kate Ferdinand “really grateful” her pregnancy is going well following miscarriage

Sarah McKenna Barry

“I’m just really grateful that everything is going OK so far.”

After announcing that she was pregnant over the weekend, Kate Ferdinand has shared more about how she’s getting on.

Kate sadly suffered a miscarriage last July. She had attended the 12-week scan with her husband Rio Ferdinand when they learned that there was no heartbeat.

Due to this experience, Kate has said that she is feeling “grateful” that this pregnancy is going well so far.

On her Blended podcast, Kate compared this pregnancy to her last.

She said: “In my last pregnancy, when I had a miscarriage, I moaned constantly. I had a bad back, I had all these things going wrong. And then, when obviously the miscarriage happened, I felt terrible for moaning and thinking now I was really ungrateful that I moaned the whole time.”

Kate announced the news that she was expecting a child with Rio via an Instagram post.

Sharing a video which displayed her growing bump, she wrote: “We’ve been praying for you.”

Kate and Rio are parents to their son Cree. Kate is also a step-mum to Rio’s three children- 16-year-old Lorenz, 13-year-old Tate, and 11-year-old Tia. Kate regularly talks about their experience as a blended family on her podcast.

Kate and Rio tied the knot in 2019. His first wife Rebecca Ellison passed away from breast cancer in 2015.
