Kate Middleton has shared her very first message on Instagram.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge completed a five-day royal tour of Pakistan on Friday 18 October with Kate Middleton giving her first TV interview in almost nine years.

After visiting an orphanage in the city of Lahore, the mum of three spoke to CNN’s Max Foster about how important it was for her and Prince William to see the SOS Children’s Village.

This was the perfect topic to dedicate her first Instagram message to with a special post shared on the Kensington Palace Instagram account this morning.

Photos released this morning show the couple playing with children from the SOS village and the series of images is extremely heartwarming.

The lengthy message reads:

“The community at the SOS Village is built around family – and the best possible family you could imagine – where everyone comes together to nurture, love and protect the children in their care.

“These vulnerable children, many who have come through traumatic circumstances, are nurtured in this caring environment and are able to form these quality relationships that they so desperately need to thrive.

Catherine”.

The tour of Pakistan was described as their “most complex yet” due to logistical and security reasons with the itinerary of each day announced every morning.

The Duke and Duchess were initially meant to depart Lahore on Thursday evening after visiting the SOS Children’s Village but a thunderstorm meant their plane was unable to land in Islamabad and they had to turn back.

They then decided to return to the orphanage in Lahore again on Friday morning where they were presented with friendship bracelets after playing a game of cricket with some of the children.

It’s clear that the visit had a major impact on both royals with the couple making time for a return visit before they left for their home in the UK.
