Kate Middleton will get a very special title when Prince William’s role changes

Kate Middleton will no longer be referred to as the Duchess of Cambridge.

Her husband Prince William is likely to become King of England one day and when this happens, Kate’s title will change significantly.

It is possible that the mum of three could then be referred to as Queen Consort although things are likely to change before that.

According to reports, William’s title may change before that too as his father, Prince Charles, may pass on his title as Prince of Wales and so, Kate Middleton will then be referred to as the Princess of Wales.

Of course, this is a very poignant choice as this title is synonymous with Princess Diana, William and Harry’s mother.

In fact, people have strong opinions on this prediction as it’s difficult to imagine anyone else having a title that has always been associated with Princess Diana.

In conversation with the Daily Star Online, royal experts made the prediction and it’s sure to be of great interest to fans of the famous family.

Speaking to the publication, royal commentator Robert Johnson said:

“If William is given the title by his dad when Charles is king, Kate will be Princess of Wales… simple as that”.

He also elaborated on the reasons why Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, decided not to take on the title.

Camilla was aware that the decision could upset Princess Diana’s loyal fans and so, she opted for the Duchess of Cornwall instead.

“The reason Camilla didn’t take the title is exceptional, she was Charles’s mistress.”

“Camilla chose to use one of Charles’s other titles hence she is HRH The Duchess of Cornwall in England and Wales. Should Camilla want to be styled HRH The Princess of Wales she could be”.

There has always been a lot of talk about how Kate Middleton’s title could change and this appears to have cleared up any confusion, for now at least.
