Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is said to have suffered “major back injuries” in a car crash near Malibu shortly after midnight on Saturday night.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, Kevin Hart and the driver, Jared Black, sustained major injuries in the crash and were transported to hospital for treatment.
A third passenger in the car, the driver's fiancée Rebecca Broxterman, is not believed to have sustained any significant injuries.
Kevin Hart's wife, Eniko Parrish, told
TMZ in a video interview on Monday that her husband was "going to be just fine," and that he was awake and starting to recover.
The crash occurred, according to the report, when the driver lost control of Kevin Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda,which went off road and rolled off an embankment.
The actor purchased the car for himself in July as a birthday gift to himself.
