Kim and Kanye criticised by LGBT advocates over their latest photo op

Anyone looking to Kim and Kanye as beacons of social progress would probably be barking up the wrong tree but even by their standards, this is disappointing.

The Kardashian-Wests have been criticised for visiting Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni.

The pair posed for photos with Museveni and gifted him with a pair of Yeezys, Kanye's designer runners.

The dictator has been in power since 1986 and has overseen some serious human rights abuses in his 32-year reign.

His staunchly homophobic regime has also been accused of jailing and torturing people over their homosexuality.

A number of people online have voiced their dismay at what's been seen as the power couple's support for the president.

Kim and Kanye were visiting Museveni to discuss promoting the country's arts and tourism.

During the meeting, Kim made her apologies and went to leave before her husband.

"The president asked Kim why she had to leave early, she replied that she had to go back to work,” a source told People.

“The president then asked what was her job and Kim, very politely, said that she had a TV show with sisters and family and they were all waiting for her return."
