Lauren Goodger wants women to know the importance of getting a smear test.
The TOWIE star has relived her terrifying cancer scare as she encouraged women to get checked.
She revealed to her followers that when she was 20, cancerous cells were discovered in her cervix.
In a post on Twitter, responding to Rebecca Vardy and Loose Women, she wrote:
“I had cancerous cells when I was 20 and the same treatment for removal.”
“You’ve just reminded me I need book a smear ASAP!”
We should all take a leaf out of Lauren’s book, and make sure we get regular smear tests.
Lauren’s message about the importance of minding one’s health comes after she made the decision to remove her facial fillers.
Lauren, who is very open about her plastic surgery, has undergone rhinoplasty, a boob job and liposuction.
However, she is now trying to embrace a more natural look.
Lauren documented her filler-removal on Snapchat, where she said:
“So as you know, I’ve never had filler in my actual face, only Dr Rob has done little tweaks on me before.”
“I’ve had a little bit of sculpting filler here in my jawline, which looks amazing at certain angles, but it’s made my face look bigger than it is and given it a manly look.”
Her surgeon followed up, saying:
“I want the girls at home to know, what they try and do is get that really defined jaw, like the edge of an iPhone… it’s too wide and it’s started looking masculine.”
