Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards shares first photo of newborn son

Sarah McKenna Barry

Such a gorgeous name.

Two weeks after giving birth, Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards has introduced her son to the world.

Taking to Instagram, Perrie shared a photo of the beautiful boy, and shared his name with her followers.

In the caption, she wrote: “2 weeks of loving you.

“I’ve never felt love like this before.”

The pop star then shared that her son’s name is Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The child’s first name is a tribute to his father, the Liverpool footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Perrie announced that she was pregnant earlier this year, with a stunning photoshoot on Instagram. At the time, her band-mate Leigh-Anne Pinnock was also pregnant.

Edwards welcomed baby Axel two weeks ago, shortly after Leigh-Anne welcomed twins.

The singer originally posted a photo of her husband holding her son’s foot and wrote: “Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21.”

Leigh-Anne, similarly, announced her news with an adorable photo.

Captioning a picture of her twins’ feet, she wrote: “We asked for a miracle, we were given two… Our cubbies are here. 16/08/21.”

Jade Thirwall shared how proud she was of her band-mates after they gave brith.

On her Instagram story, she wrote: “My heart is honestly bursting for my sisters.

“Unbelievably proud of these women for handling their pregnancies like the Queens they truly are and bringing a little little mix into the world.”

Beyond babies, it’s been a busy year for the girlband.

A few months ago, the band made history by becoming the first all-female group to win the Brit Award for Best Group. Accepting their award, the girls gave a special shoutout to Jesy, and thanked all the girl groups that came before them.

Last week saw Little Mix release the music video for their latest single Love (Sweet Love). On top of that, the band are all set to celebrate their 10 years in the business with a brand new album. Between Us will be released in November.
