“Normally, if it’s just a cold, I’ll shower, I’ll eat, take some medicine and it gets better”

Lizzo has fallen ill while on the road for her ‘Special Tour’ and gave fans an update on Instagram earlier today.

The 35-year-old songstress revealed that she hasn’t been feeling well, but today things seem to be “getting worse”.

The star says she has been left feeling “weak” after coming down with a sore throat and a headache.

She apologised profusely to her fans as she announced her upcoming show would not be going ahead.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Lizzo shared a video of herself hidden under blankets with a blue face mask on.

“Hey Montreal, I had a sore throat last night and a headache and I went to bed and I woke up this morning and it was worse and my body’s weak and I got chills and my head hurts,” she said, sounding miserable.

“Normally, if it’s just a cold, I’ll shower, I’ll eat, take some medicine and it gets better. But this is getting worse,” she explained.

She was visibly upset as she speculated about what the illness could be: “I think it’s the flu and I have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel today.

“I want to find a date to reschedule, but I just can’t perform tonight.

“This is the second time I’ve ever had to cancel due to health in my entire career and I will make it up to you Montreal. I’m so sorry.”

Captioning the post, she wrote: “Montreal I’m so sorry but I physically cannot do the show. I promise we will honor your tickets.”

Her incredibly supportive fans rushed to comment on the post offering their support with one person writing: “Lizzo rest. The real ones will understand. Whoever got my queen sick needs to catch me outside.”

Another said: “Take care of yourself first. Take care of us later,” while a third wrote: “C’est la vie! Hope you feel better very soon precious soul.”

Among the thousands of comments, another person added: “You’re a national treasure! Just take care of yourself. Please.”
