Looks like the reason behind Cheryl and Liam Payne’s split has been revealed

Cheryl and Liam Payne reportedly split up after she felt she had been left to raise their 17-month-old son on her own.

The pair, who share a young son named Bear, announced in July that they were going their separate ways.

A social media statement issued on both of their accounts read:

“We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It’s been a tough decision for us to make.

“We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”

Almost two months after the split, it seems that more and more details of the end  of the relationship between the normally notoriously private pair have surfaced.

And it may not have been as amicable as they let on.

Following the former One Direction singer’s hints that Cheryl was the one who called time on their relationship, new reports about the reason behind the split have emerged.

Sources close to the couple told The Sun that the Girls Aloud singer ended things with Liam because she felt that she had been raising their babylon on her own.

The publication reports that the mum-of-one “effectively raised Bear on her own” for most of the first year of his life, since her then-partner was on the road so often – which led to the breakdown of their relationship.

She is said to have received plenty of support from her mum, Joan, while Liam was away.

Cheryl, who has been fairly hush-hush about their relationship in the past, is also said to be sharing more details about her romance with Liam in her upcoming music.

Liam and Cheryl first met in 2009 when the then 14-year-old Liam auditioned for The X Factor.

They were first linked as a couple in 2016 and in March of 2017 they welcomed their son, Bear.
