Lorraine Kelly has some extremely harsh words for Meghan Markle

Ouch.

Earlier this week, Meghan Markle was interviewed by Vanity Fair and spoke at length about her relationship with Prince Harry and how they are in love.

The reaction to the piece was divided with some people saying that this public display goes against their previous decision to ask for privacy while others were delighted at the glimpse into their romance, which has been kept under wraps until now.

However, there’s one person who has a very firm stance on the topic, none other than Scottish TV presenter Lorraine Kelly.

The 57-year-old, who has had a number of major presenting roles since the 1980s, also writes weekly columns for The Sun and Dundee newspaper The Sunday Post.

This week, Lorraine touched on Meghan’s relationship with the British royal and made her feelings very clear, suggesting that it’s impossible to ask for privacy and then agree to a huge interview with one of the world’s biggest publications.

Writing for The Sun, she commented:

“I reckon Prince Harry’s girlfriend has scored a spectacular own goal by invading her own privacy and adorning the front cover of Vanity Fair while trilling about how much they both love each other”.

The mother of one went on to say that while she had sympathy for Meghan last year when Prince Harry asked that the media respect her privacy, “his pleas would have cut more ice if Meghan hadn’t then invited a glossy magazine into her Toronto home”.

*Burn*

Lorraine then suggested that the couple can no longer “play the privacy card because she has voluntarily spoken so openly about their relationship”.

As we said, Lorraine doesn’t hold back but at the same time, she does acknowledge that it must be difficult for the Suits star being thrust into a whole new way of life.
