Louis was then presented with a sequinned cushion featuring his face.
The journalist proceeded to stroke the pillow and carried on talking about why he was unconventionally attractive - in the greatest way possible.
"At the same time I was also aware there’s a bit of irony bought into it," he argued. "Like I’m aware that it’s not “Oh we think he’s Brad Pitt.'"
They do, though. They do.
"Even I or my mum would suggest that that’s the best shot of me," he said looking at the pillow.
"I just look gormless and my glasses aren’t even straight! Clearly there’s some sort of sense of 'well it’s his gormless qualities that we like', whereas I’d prefer to be a sort’ve Brad Pitt type sex symbol. But I’ll take it wherever I can get it."
Indeed, Louis. Indeed.
This comes ahead of Louis's latest BBC documentary, Mothers on the Edge.
Airing this Sunday, the film follows women suffering from postpartum psychosis who are being treated for serious mental health issues.
Louis said that although what some of the mothers are going through may be heavy and difficult to understand, he is urging viewers not to be too judgemental.
"I hope that viewers will understand that these mums are going through mental-health episodes and being honest about it," he told Digital Spy.
"People are quite quick to judge, aren’t they? I just hope that people understand what bravery it’s taken for these mums to speak out about what they’ve gone through."
Mothers On The Edge will be on BBC2 on May 12 at 9pm.Explore more on these topics:
