You may have noticed that here at Her Towers, we’re rather fond of Love Island.
We’re certainly not alone either: the reality TV show has been the run-away television hit of recent times, with millions tuning in six-nights-a-week to follow the action.
Anyone who’s watching #LoveIsland for the first time this evening and posting sarcastic and/or incredulous tweets needs to take a long hard look in the mirror. No one is impressed.

Maybe some of it is staged, but frankly – we don’t really care; it was pure, brilliant entertainment and we reckon there are worse ways to spend your time.
Still, that hasn’t stopped a whole load of folk taking the piss out of us true fans on social on Monday evening… just as the finale was airing.
1. Obviously you don’t get it. You don’t come in on the last episode of any programme and get it.
2. If it’s not for you, fine. Why are you watching it?
3. You’re not a superior person for disliking something thousands and thousands of people enjoy.

Which is why we’re massively applauding 2fm’s Louise McSharry – who wrapped up our own sentiments in a series of hit-the-nail-on-the-head tweets on Monday evening.
She wrote:

Hear, hear, we say!!
A subsequent tweet stated: “You’re not a superior person for disliking something thousands and thousands of people enjoy.”
And although she rounded off by admitting that she was ‘tired and cranky’ we’re going out on a limb by saying that Louise perfectly embodied the thoughts and feelings of our Love Island-obsessed nation… and no one should apologise for being enthralled by the Villa.
‘Til next year!
