Chloe shared the news with her fans today.

Love Island star Chloe Crowhurst has been injured in a “serious car accident.”

The former islander, who appeared on the 2017 instalment of the reality TV show, shared a photo of herself in a hospital gown to Instagram early this morning, writing that she wouldn’t be online for some time.

The influencer added that she is currently “in a lot of pain and distress.”

“Hi guys, I’ve just been collected from hospital due to being in a serious car accident,” she wrote. “I won’t be responding to anyone until I can. I am in a lot of pain and distress.”

Chloe, who was coupled up with Chris Hughes before eventually leaving the villa with Sam Gowland, recently said that she only decided to go on Love Island to make her ex, TOWIE’s Jon Clark, “jealous.”

“I said no, because of all this stuff that had been going on with Jon, who had also been on Love Island,” she said.

“I had people, producers, turning up at my old work in Canary Wharf begging me to come on the show and I was like, ‘no, I’m not doing it’.”

She went on: “They were turning up at my work and felt really pressured and one day they were like, ‘I’ve booked you a flight’ and I told them ‘see you later I ain’t doing it, I’ve told you numerous times I’m not doing it’.”

Chloe said she decided to go on the series just a few hours before her flight was due to leave the UK. Since leaving the villa, she has worked with multiple high profile brands, but has urged anyone considering going on the show against doing so.

The next series of Love Island begins on Monday, June 28, at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
