Love Island’s Zara responds after being accused of editing her photos

Keeley Ryan

Former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott has hit back at social media trolls who have accused her of editing her photos.

The 21-year-old, who often shares photos of herself from vacations or nights out, has been criticised by people who claim she is editing the pictures to enhance her cleavage.

Her latest photo, a throwback picture from a holiday in Greece last year, shows Zara with her hands by her waist as she looks at the ground.

People were quick to accuse her of editing her appearance, claiming she didn’t look the same as she had during her Love Island stint.

Zara soon clarified that the picture had actually been taken a year ago – and began replying to some of the more brutal comments herself.

In reply to one of the Instagram users, she said:

“I don’t mean to be rude but I don’t understand what you (and others) get from leaving negative comments on peoples pictures.

“Everyone is beautiful there’s no need for comments like these!”

In another comment, she assured the social media user that the photo “isn’t photoshopped at all.”

She added:

“As I have said before and I will say again, my boobs are completely natural and I absolutely love them.

“Although it can be annoying sometimes when in some outfits they look big and some they look small, and I can’t really wear a bra most of the time due to a medical reason, so hence why it depends on what outfit I’m wearing that the size can seem to fluctuate.

“I really don’t photoshop my pics and the reason it’s blurry is because it was taken off my Facebook page and the picture isn’t great quality, as this photo was taken last year.”

She continued by explaining how “frustrating” it was to deal with those comments, finishing her response by saying:

“It’s constant comments like these that drive girls to getting plastic surgery when everyone is perfect the way they are, and it’s really sad.

“I am confident in my body and I don’t need body shamers on my page! It’s all love!”

And after another person commented that Zara had “found” her boobs after her appearance on Love Island, she assured them that they had “always been there” – the photo was just taken last year.

She added:

“It’s just my boobs unfortunately when I wear different outfits.

“I’d love for them to look big in everything, but that’s not real and I pride myself on being as real as possible!

“It’s frustrating to see beautiful girls like you leaving comments like these on my posts.

“They are so unnecessary and also they encourage online bullying. Please think before you comment things like this.

“It’s all love and as I have said, you are beautiful!”
