He was found dead in his home a month ago.
Mac Miller’s official cause of death has been revealed.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Corone, Malcom McCormack (Mac’s real name) died from a fatal combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.
The 26-year-old rapper was found dead in his home on September 7th, a month from tomorrow.
At the time of Mac Miller’s devastating passing, his family released a statement:
“Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans.”
“Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.”
At the time of his passing, Mac Miller’s ex girlfriend, Ariana Grande, posted a heartbreaking tribute to him online.
She wrote:
“I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore.”
“I really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else.”
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re ok now. rest.”
