It's previously been reported that the couple are designing a neutral nursery at their new home of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, opting for grey and white colours as opposed to a traditional pink or blue.
The news comes after hints about the baby's gender broke in the media in the past week.
Images from Meghan's baby shower in New York showed pastel pink treats being served, suggesting that it was a girl.
But contrasting reports stated that the Duchess told her friends at the shower that she was having a boy.
Raising children as gender neutral has become something of a trend in Hollywood.
Most recently, Kate Hudson revealed that she was taking a "genderless approach" to bringing up her daughter.
Other celebrities like Paloma Faith and Angelina Jolie have also spoken about raising their children without stereotypes.
