They’re heading away in October.

This autumn, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will fly over to Australia for a royal tour. While there, they will also be attending the Invictus Games.

The Games are an international adaptive sport competition for wounded servicemen, women, and veterans. Prince Harry founded The Invictus Games in 2014.

It has now been revealed that David Beckham will be joining the royals while they’re at the Games as he has been announced as the new ambassador for the competition.

In an Instagram post, David said:

“I’ve been lucky enough to meet and work with many serving, veteran and wounded British armed forces personnel over the years and I’ve been humbled by the courage, resilience and spirit shown by each and every one of them.

“So, I’m incredibly proud to announce I will be an Ambassador for this year’s Invictus Games in Sydney. The entire Invictus Games team, led by the Duke of Sussex, has achieved remarkable things in such a short space of time, using sport as a powerful force to rehabilitate and unite and I can’t wait to be part of the energy and the excellence of the Games this year.”

David Beckham has been a longtime friend of both William and Harry, with him and his wife Victoria attending both of their weddings.
