Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘snub’ the Queen by turning down invite to Balmoral

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly “snubbed” the Queen – by turning down her invitation to Balmoral.

The Queen typically asks her family to her estate in Scotland for her two-month-long summer holiday.

And while Prince William and Kate Middleton made the visit with their three children, The Sun report the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined the invite – as they said their son, Archie, was too young.

A royal insider told the publication the Queen was “disappointed” the Sussexes would not be visiting Balmoral this summer.

They said:

“Harry and Meghan had no plans to go to Balmoral this summer as they felt Archie was too young.

“It’s a bit odd, as his age didn’t stop them taking him to Ibiza for a week and then to see Elton John in France.

“If they want privacy or protection — which was Harry’s excuse for taking private jets — there is no more protected or private holiday destination than the Queen’s Scottish home.

“It’s all very hunting, shooting, fishing up at Balmoral, so maybe that put Meghan off.

“She has never been to Balmoral and the Queen was disappointed they’re not going.”

It comes as, late last month, it was reported the Sussexes would be going to Balmoral – just not at the same time as the Cambridges.

It has been reported that instead of meeting in the Scottish Castle, Meghan and Harry have pushed out their own trip.

An insider told The Sun:

“Harry and Meghan won’t be going up at the same time as William and the cousins. They plan to go next month.”
