Before Meghan Markle was a duchess, she was an actress who was admired for many things.
One of the main things people adored about Meghan was (and still is) her fashion sense.
She is now, certainly, one of the most influential women in the world.
But it seems as though Meghan took some tips from her no-grandmother-in-law, long before she met Prince Harry.
In a video for Reitmans TV from 2016, Meghan gave an insight into her fashion inspirations.
Entitled ‘A fashion conversation with Meghan Markle’, the now-duchess cited the Queen as one of her major inspirations.
She said: “Tone on tone is not just for the Queen,” referencing Queen Elizabeths ability to wear all one colour.
“A really fun way to play around with it is to just play up the textures.”
“If you have different sense to touch and it adds a different dimension to each of the pieces you’re wearing, then suddenly the tones don’t look flat.”
“They have a lot of depth and interest and you’re still in one streamlined same-tone silhouette.”
She added: “At the end of the day the whole idea is to be open and playful and experiment with your looks and style, so if you’re just dressing in what makes you feel comfortable and confident and you have with it – I guess the secret is out.”
The best bit? This video was released just a few weeks before Meghan Markle met Prince Harry for the first time.
