He’s had his say.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became engaged, the couple have been the centre of attention as their relationship has been catapulted into the public eye.

From photoshoots to royal engagements, it’s all go and many an eyebrow was raised when Meghan’s half-sister Samantha shared her opinions, which you can read more about here.

However, Meghan’s father has now had his say on the big news and he appears to be delighted with his daughter’s husband-to-be.

Thomas Markle was visiting a convenience store in Rosarito, Mexico at the weekend when a local woman reportedly asked him for his thoughts on the upcoming wedding.

According to The Sun, Thomas was open about his thoughts on Meghan and Harry’s union.

He said:

“I think it’s wonderful, I’m very delighted. I think they’re (a) very good match, I’m very happy for them, Meghan and Harry”.

“I love my daughter very much. Harry’s a gentleman”.

However, he also said that he didn’t want to be bothered any further or have flashing cameras in his eyes”.

Meghan’s mother and father divorced when she was six and her mother now lives in Los Angeles with her father’s home in Mexico.

In June 2016, Meghan posted the below Father’s Day message thanking her father for teaching her the importance of handwritten thank-you notes and it’s really rather sweet.

Saturday, 19 May is the date set for the royal wedding and it will take place in St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
