Meghan Markle’s gym sesh sounds intense and we would not be able

Jade Hayden

Christ.

How many times a week do you go to the gym?

Twice a week? Four times a week? Never because effort of that?

All of the above options are acceptable, tbh.

No matter what you do in the gym (or don’t do, whatever suits), you’ll know that an intense workout can be rewarding… but also painful and tiring and make you want to lie down for the rest of your life.

Still though, it’s unlikely that whatever we’d be doing in the gym is half an intense as what Meghan Markle does be doing most of the week.

Because according to her former personal trainer, it’s a lot.

Toronto based trainer Craig McNamee told Women’s Health that Meghan hit up the gym about three of four times a week for 45 minutes sessions when she used to train with him.

And, yeah OK, that’t not an insane amount of time to be training, but it’s what she did while she was there that made us sweat profusely.

He said:

“Generally speaking, we had a full-body approach. And since Meghan was onscreen (in Suits), we really focused on posture.

“Our big focus with all of our sessions was to not be too repetitive and really create a dynamic workout with a lot of variety.”

McNamee said that he tended to focus on circuit training, which saw Meghan do four of five exercises in quick succession and then rest for 45 seconds before doing it all again.

One of the exercises involved something called a “rear-foot elevated split squat and press,” where a dumbbell was held in each hand above the shoulders, one foot was behind on a bench, and then some lunges were done while the weights are lifted.

Another exercise was a single-leg kettlebell deadlift, and another was a hanging abs raise, which apparently was very “advanced.”

Fair play, like.

Meghan is set to marry Prince Harry next month.
