Met Éireann have forecast wet and wind for the next couple of days as New Year's Eve celebrations get under way.
Forecaster Vincent O’Shea added: “Around the country it is going to be very showery.
“There will be downpours especially in coastal areas in Munster and the West.
“It’s going to turn very wet and windy overnight into New Year’s Day.
“We can expect rain and heavy winds with the southern half of the country faring worst.
