He might have an estimated net worth of $10 million, but our Niall Horan is a savvy spender when it comes to his holidays.
The One Direction star has revealed that his latest getaway set him back just €23 per night.
Determined to enjoy the experiences other young people take for granted while avoiding the spotlight, Horan chose the authentic route on a recent backpacking trip in south-east Asia with his two cousins.
The 23-year-old Mullingar star, who is currently based in LA where he is working on a solo album during the group's hiatus, told Radio 2's Chris Evans Breakfast Show:
"I went backpacking across south-east Asia last year.
"It was incredible. We went around Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia for six weeks.
"We did it on a budget and it was brilliant. You'd be surprised what 20 quid a night gets you over in Asia."
Apparently the singer managed to avoid the eagle eyes of his legion of adoring fans by wearing hats and sunglasses. Although we're not convinced he didn't book the odd five-star resort in between those grotty hostel stays...
