Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson has revealed he and his husband Justin Mikita are expecting their first child together.
The actor shared their happy news during an appearance on The Late Show With James Corden earlier this week, while sharing his advice about turning 40 with Charlie Hunnam.
“It’s when you finally become an adult, I feel like, ‘I need to start getting serious about things’,” he began. “Actually, this is something I haven’t even mentioned to anyone, if we could just keep it between the three of us and you all, but I’m actually expecting a baby in July with my husband.”
Jokingly confirming they were expecting a “human” when asked about the child’s sex, he added that he was “very excited” for the little one’s arrival.
Mikita and Tyler Ferguson tied the knot in July 2013 in a ceremony in downtown New York.
The Modern Family star previously told PEOPLE [via PopCulture] how they were “very excited to start a family together.”
“We don’t have any sort of timeline right now. When you have to look for alternate means, there’s a little more planning that has to go into that, so who knows,” When we start the process it might still be a three-year ordeal. We’ll see what happens!”
