“My Daughter Knows ‘The Men’ Are Watching Her” – Hollywood Actress Speaks Out In Court For New Paparazzi Bill

Hollywood actress Halle Berry has appeared in court, testifying for a bill that would prevent the paparazzi from being able to photograph the children of celebrities.

According to the Huffington Post, the actress spoke in court at the California Capitol and said, "My daughter doesn't want to go to school because she knows `the men' are watching for her.

"They jump out of the bushes and from behind cars and who knows where else, besieging these children just to get a photo."

Halle Berry, who is expecting her second child in October, already has a five-year-old daughter Nahla, who is no stranger to paps trying to get a snapshot of her out and about.

Halle and her daughter Nahla share a high-five together. 

Berry said she was speaking in favour of the anti-harrasment bill by Senator Kevin de Leon as a "mother of a daughter and the baby boy in my belly."

"If it passes, the quality of my life and my children's lives will be dramatically changed," she said.

It was reported that opponents of the bill found it difficult to testify in court in the presence of the Hollywood actress. 

The bill would change the definition of harassment to include photographing or recording a child without the permission of a legal guardian by following the child or by lying in wait.

Anyone convicted of doing so could spend between 10 days and a year in jail.
