“There’s no chance right now.”
A chance at a reconciliation between Meghan Markle and her dad, Thomas, is reportedly “completely off the table” after his recent string of interviews.
The 74-year-old has made a number of controversial comments in recent weeks – including how Princess Diana would have “loathed” how he is being treated, and wondered if Meghan would be better off “if I was dead.”
He did admit, though, that he would be “heartbroken” if the Duchess of Sussex never spoke to him again – and is hoping to reconcile with her.
However, the possibility of patching things up between the father-daughter duo is said to be “completely off the table at the moment.”
According to a Daily Mail source close to the actress: “there’s no chance right now – he’s been a complete embarrassment.”
The person also said that Meghan and her father have reportedly had issues since before she even met Prince Harry – and that the 36-year-old is taking his words “with a grain of salt.”
The source said:
“The Royal Family isn’t as upset as you’d think either.
“Nothing any of them [the Markle family] say has any real consequence and they [Meghan and Harry] have more important things to focus on.”
In his most recent interview, Thomas Markle accused his daughter of having “cut me off completely” – claiming that they haven’t spoken in 10 weeks.
He also said that he wanted to send her a card for her birthday, which takes place on August 4, but didn’t think she would actually get it.
He told The Mail on Sunday:
“I thought about sending it by Priority Mail Express, but the Palace would probably just soak it in water for three days to make sure it doesn’t explode.”
