The NYPD has issued an update following a ‘near-catastrophic’ car chase involving Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, as well as her mother Doria Ragland.

Paparazzi followed the car as the couple travelled to a gala with Meghan’s mother. It is believed the ‘car chase’ went on for two hours, but no injuries were reported.

The NYPD issued an update following the alleged car chase. According to Sky News, a spokesperson for the NYPD said:

“There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination.

“There were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.”

Following the incident, Meghan and Harry’s spokesperson said their safety should never be at risk.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians, and two NYPD officers.”

The couple’s press secretary Ashley Hansen told Sky News,  “I have never experienced their vulnerability as much as I did last night.”

The incident comes after Prince Harry attended his father’s Coronation without Meghan Markle. The dad-of-two has spoken out about the danger his family is in on multiple occasions.
