It was one of the most hotly-anticipated gigs of the year so far and with over a billion people tuning in, it seems that the Olympics closing ceremony didn’t disappoint.
To mark the end of what can only be described as an incredible two weeks of sporting achievement, including five medals for the Irish team, the best of the British pop world took to the stage.
From pop legends George Michael and Queen to new sensations Emeli Sande and One Direction, there was an array of musical talent from all decades on display.
The Spice Girls also took to the stage, in one of the evening's standout performances, to sing their hits Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life.

The Spice Girls reunited to perform at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Games.
But the spectacle didn't end there. Supermodels Lily Cole, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell took to the catwalk at one point during the show. The cast of West End musical Stomp made an appearance as well.
Spectators, viewers and athletes were also treated to a visual frenzy including incredible stage props and fireworks during the night.

Fireworks lit up the Olympic Stadium last night in London.
As tradition would have it, the Olympic flame was extinguished during the ceremony marking the end of this year's Games and the four year wait until Rio 2016.
