Birthday presents don’t get much better than a diamond ring…
Paris Hilton has a lot to be celebrating this week, the star turned 40 and she’s now engaged to be married to her boyfriend Carter Reum.
Paris announced her engagement on Instagram with stunning pictures of the proposal that Carter set up while holidaying on a private island. The 40 year old also shared some gorgeous pics of the emerald cut engagement ring which has just been added to her left hand.
The ring was made for her by Jean Dousset, the great-great grandson of iconic jeweller Louis Cartier and cost a cool $2 million dollars .
The star goes into detail about the ring on her website writing: “My love went above and beyond in every way. He tapped Jean Dousset, the great-great grandson of Louis-Francois Cartier, to design a breathtakingly beautiful ring that appears lit from within.”

Paris and Carter have been dating for a year, for her birthday he surprised her with a trip to a private island to celebrate and that’s where he popped the question.
Hilton took to Instagram to reveal the exciting news to her followers, one post was captioned: “When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise.”

The star also wrote about the proposal on her website, saying: “A peaceful pre-dinner walk on the beach turned into much more when Carter dropped to one knee. It was the kind of proposal I had always dreamed of, followed by a special celebration with family and close friends.”
