Peter Andre Apologises for Iceland Joke

"I sincerely apologise if it upset anyone."

Peter Andre has apologised for the recent joke he made on Celebrity Juice about appearing in the Iceland advertisements.

The singer-turned-reality-star received a lot of criticism after implying that he was “embarrassed” about the promos which feature in all of the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! ad breaks.

This is a clip of the joke Peter made during Celebrity Juice.

In his column for Closer magazine, Peter explained: “It was completely tongue in cheek, but some took it the wrong way and called for me to be sacked as the face of the brand.

“First of all, I sincerely apologise if it upset anyone. I knew Keith and the team were going to banter me for doing the ads, so I just got in there first.”

He continued: “I’m extremely proud to be the Iceland ambassador and we’re all had a great response from the ads.

“It’s an ongoing joke in my house that whenever I come on TV, I have to leave the room because I can’t watch myself back – that’s what HDTV does to ya!”

After the joke was made and people reacted negatively, Iceland tweeted in support of the 41-year-old. Their post read: “He was just joking, it’s the nature of the show, he’s a top bloke.”
