The photographer of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Christmas card has responded to claims the card has been photoshopped.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex unveiled their holiday card earlier this week, with their son Archie front and centre of the festive well-wishes.

And while many fans were ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the adorable family photo, others took to social media to question whether the card had been photoshopped. They suspected that both Meghan and Archie had been altered in the photo.

Actress Janina Gavankar, who took the photo the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are using for their Christmas card, addressed the claims on social media on Christmas Day.

“So proud to have taken the Christmas photo for one of my best friends and her family. Here’s the original that was sent out,” she wrote alongside the original photo

“Now may we all get back to the spirit of Christmas and not the spirit of maliciousness,” she later added, addressing the claims the card had been photoshopped.

The Sussexes Christmas card arrived days after their Christmas plans and been confirmed.

The royal family typically celebrates the holiday season at Sandringham with the Queen.

However, earlier this year, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be taking a six-week break from royal duties to spend time as a family.

Now, the palace have revealed a little more about the Sussexes plans – as a spokesperson confirmed they are “spending private family time in Canada.”

“The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both,” the statement read. “Whilst this email confirms the country they are taking their family time in, for security reasons we will not be releasing any further details and request that their privacy is respected.

“The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family.

“They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son.”
