Popstar Turned Knight In Shining Armour – Coronas Frontman Danny Tries To Save Friend In Freak Accident

It has emerged that Coronas frontman Danny O’Reilly was involved in a recue bid on Sunday night when a friend of his tragically fell from the Dart platform at Tara Street station.

The Irish Sun is reporting that the woman is believed to have fallen while leaning against a carriage which began moving.

Witnesses said that Danny made a brave attempt to pull the woman from the tracks but he was unable to reach her in time.

The insider said: “The woman is very well known to Danny and his family so they’re obviously very distraught and shaken by the whole thing.

“He was due to travel to London with the rest of the band this week but has put plans on hold for a few days to get his head around what has happened.”

The injured woman was taken to St James’s Hospital where she lost her right foot and medics feared she might lose the rest of her leg below the knee.

A spokesman for Iarnrod Eireann told the Irish Sun yesterday: “A woman was injured in a very unfortunate accident last night.”
