The mum of three said that Prince George (5) and Princess Charlotte (3) were up very early to open their Christmas presents, as were many kids all over the world.
However, it's royal tradition to open presents on Christmas Eve and so it could be argued that the little ones went against the royal rule.
Hardly a big deal considering Santa comes but once a year.
This tradition is said to date back to the era of Queen Victoria, her husband Prince Albert believed they should open gifts on the 24, Christmas Eve as opposed to the following day.
Royal expert Robert Jobson, author of Charles at Seventy, explained the background of this tradition in conversation with The Express.
He said:
"Royals have done it every year since. "On Christmas Eve when all the clan are together, the Queen's grandchildren and great-grandchildren put the finishing touches to the 20ft Christmas tree in the White Drawing Room".We're sure Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis too were delighted with what Santa brought for them.
