William and Kate share new photo to mark Prince George's 9th birthday
Prince George turns 9 on July 22nd.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a new photo of Prince George to mark his 9th birthday.
The snap of the future king was taken by his mother, Kate Middleton. It is believed the mum-of-three took the photo of Prince George during a recent family holiday in the United Kingdom.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share a new photograph of Prince George ahead of his ninth birthday tomorrow."
Prince William and Kate posted the snap on their Instagram to mark their son's birthday.
They simply captioned the image, "George is turning 9!"
In the snap, George is grinning at the camera on the beach. He is wearing a blue polo in the photo, which is a stark change from the prince's most recent outfits.
Both Kate and William recently came under fire for making their son wear a formal suit in 28-degree weather.
Fans of the royal couple praised the natural photo.
Others pointed out the resemblance between Prince George and his father, Prince William.
One said, "What a fantastic photo! George looks so much like his dad."
Another added, "He looks so much like his dad!! Wishing him a fantastic day."
"Happy Birthday, Prince George! I still remember the day I saw your parents showing your little face to the world."
The Cambridges have a busy summer ahead of them. Along with multiple royal engagements, the family of five is also moving into their new home in Windsor.
