Upon hearing that Otia was recently bereaved, the prince spent a couple of minutes chatting to the youngster.
"Everything will be okay - look at me," he reportedly told him.
"Harry just said 'everything will be fine, you will grow up to be strong and positive'," an onlooker added.
Harry also spoke to Te, who now looks after her grandson.
"You’re doing a great job, Nan," he told her. "Nans are so important in our lives."
The moment will no doubt have resonated with Harry, who lost his mum Princess Diana at the age of 12.
His grandmother Queen Elizabeth took it upon herself to protect her grandsons after Diana's death, keeping Harry and William at her residence in Balmoral, Scotland so they could grieve privately.
