Prince Harry makes an official comment on why he and his family have used private jets recently

Prince Harry headed back to work today after a summer break, announcing a new venture.

In a bid to offer more "sustainable travel", a new global partnership entitled Travalyst has been launched together with popular travel websites including Booking.com, Trip Advisor and Skyscanner. In a post featuring on the official Sussex Royal Instagram account, Prince Harry explained exactly what the new global initiative is all about.

"Travalyst aims to make travel more sustainable, to help protect destinations and benefit communities long into the future, and to enable consumers to make more environmental friendly choices whilst travelling".

It also explained that the aim of Travalyst is to change the future of travel, for good with the Duke of Sussex commenting that for some time, there has been a lack of connection between community and environment, something he noticed during his travels. In recent times, the Duke has been the subject of much backlash for his decision to take private jets to both Ibiza and France with his family, resulting in four flights in eleven days. He addressed this topic today and understandably, it is his wife, Meghan Markle, and his baby son, Archie, who influenced this decision. Prince Harry said that he took a commercial flight to attend today's event and ninety percent of the time, this is the case with his travels. According to the BBC, he said:

"I came here by commercial. I spend 99% of my life travelling the world by commercial," "Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family are safe - it's generally as simple as that."

Of course, this response may draw a comparsion with his older brother Prince William, who was recently spotted boarding a commercial flight to Scotland with his wife and three children. It's believed that the Cambridge family also returned home in the same manner but of course, every situation is different and those making criticisms are more than likely not aware of the exact circumstances surrounding the flights Prince Harry and his family have taken.
