Prince William abruptly cancels royal engagement due to ‘personal matter’

Prince William pulled out of the event at the last minute

Prince William was due to appear at the regiments at Wattisham, Suffolk on Thursday but cancelled an hour before his visit.

He was unable to attend due to a personal matter but has vowed to reschedule as soon as possible.

His spokesperson shared, "The Prince of Wales sends his sincere apologies to those who he had been due to meet and hopes to reschedule his visit at the earliest convenience."

The news comes after the dad-of-three and the Princess of Wales announced Kate was in remission.

This week, Kate visited the hospital where she was treated for cancer and revealed she was in remission.

In a statement, the mum-of-three shared the incredible news.

"I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year.

"My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more."

She continued, "The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional. In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer."

"It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal."

Kate said she's looking forward to "a fulfilling year ahead" after a difficult 2024.
