With excitement building ahead of the royal wedding, royal watchers are speculating about every detail of the nuptials.

We already know that Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle have been involved in the planning and that they will be incorporating their own touches into the big day to make it more personal.

Kensington Palace has also shared a few details about the wedding with us.

We know that the couple will ride through Windsor in an Ascot Landau carriage after they tie the knot on 19 May and that their wedding cake will be a lemon and elderflower cake with fresh flowers made by Californian pastry chef Claire Ptak.

It’s now reported that Prince Harry will wear a wedding ring, unlike his older brother.

E! News reports that he “does want to wear a wedding band”. It’s little surprise – Harry has been spotted wearing jewellery before, including matching bracelets with Meghan.

William, meanwhile, simply doesn’t like jewellery.

The palace announced ahead of his 2011 wedding to Kate Middleton that the prince had chosen not to have a ring.

“It was something the couple discussed but Prince William isn’t one for jewellery – he doesn’t even wear a signet ring – and decided he didn’t want to,” a palace aide said at the time.

“It really is just down to personal preference.”

Meghan’s wedding band is likely to be made from a piece of Clogau-Welsh gold already owned by the royal family, like Kate’s ring.
