How very mature of him.

Prince William and Prince Harry were both very young when their parents split up.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles officially separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996, a year before Diana tragically died in a car crash.

At the time of the very public split, Prince William was just 14, but managed to help his mum through the ordeal.

In documentary “Prince William: Royalty In My Family”, the narrator claims:

“It’s believed that William later advised her to accelerate her divorce proceedings by agreeing to be stripped of her royal title.”

Apparently, Prince William said: “You’ll still be mummy.”

Prince William was famously very protective of his mum.

According to the documentary, William is said to have booked Princess Diana’s favourite restaurant in order to cheer her up, when he was just nine.

Award for best son alert!

Prince William also allegedly looked into pursuing a career as a police officer when he was younger, so he could protect his mum.

Our hearts can’t deal.

However, it was younger brother Harry who bought the future King down to earth, telling him: “You can’t, you’ve got to be King!”

The documentary also claims that Diana “relied on her eldest son for comfort and advice”.

So sweet.
