We’ve always been aware of the fact that the late Princess Diana had a brilliant sense of humour.
However, now we really understand that humour.
A birthday card Princess Diana once sent her accountant has gone to auction, and it will make you LOL.
The front of the card, sent to her friend and accountant Anthony Burrage, has a cartoon of sleeping beauty.
Sounds pretty normal?
The front of the card also read: “A little prick in the hand sent Sleeping Beauty to sleep.”
It was the inside of the card that really made us laugh.
“Only the big ones are worth staying awake for!” it read.
And we’re laughing…
Princess Diana also wrote a personal note to her friend with a felt tip pen (or possibly a black marker).
“Tony, a belated Happy Birthday for the 5th. From, Diana.”
The hilarious card is up for sale with Julien’s Auctions in the UK, and is expected to earn up to £900.
Diana used to famously buy funny bits for her sons, particularly Prince Harry.
According to Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell:
“She’d spend hours looking for jokey things for their stockings.
“One year, Harry got fake dog poo.”
She had some sense of humour.
