Princess Diana battled with mental health issues for years.

Princess Diana’s former personal trainer has revealed some interesting facts about the late princess.

Trainer Jenni Rivett has opened up about the time she spent training Princess Diana.

Jenni began working with Diana in 1991, having been recommended to her by a close friend.

Diana had been suffering from bulimia for a number of years, but began using exercise as a coping mechanism for the disorder.

Speaking about the late princess, Jenni said:

“Actually she had such an incredible sense of humour.”

“The way that was brought up was with a joke.”

“She was just trying to make light of it.”

Diana became “disciplined and incredibly dedicated” to her exercise, and attended three training sessions each week.

The trainer said: “When you train with someone and they start to feel that strength going through their muscles it is so empowering and it just helped so much to make you not want to go that direction again.”

She knew after every session she would feel amazing.

“It would help her to continue to better herself and feel more and more empowered and make the eating disorder a thing of the past.

“She liked to have a bit of a laugh when she trained. Obviously there were days when she was having a really bad day, and I’d be a little bit lenient on her and not boss her around too much.

“She used to feel so great afterwards and the aesthetics are just a bonus.”
