Okay, we’re bawling.

We have been following the love story between Prince William and Kate Middleton for years.

The couple met in University, and began a whirlwind romance that captured the attention of the whole world.

Sure, it wasn’t always rainbows and unicorns, and the pair did split for a while after college.

In 2007, Kate and William took a secret trip in the hopes of rekindling their relationship.

in his 2011 book “William and Catherine,” Andrew Morton, wrote:

“Kate and William, under the assumed names of Martin and Rose Middleton, bid farewell to the paradise island of Desroches in the Outer Seychelles where they had spent a sublime week renewing their love affair.”

Author Marcia Moody also wrote about this game changing trip, saying:

“They stayed in the Desroches Island Resort, checking in under the names Martin and Rosemary Middleton, and went kayaking and snorkelling in the shallow coral reef.”

It was on this trip that William made a special promise to Kate Middleton.

Kate had been forced to pull out of a charity race, despite training for it, because of the pressures of palace protocol – annoying.

William made a promise to Kate there and then, saying that they would spend the next few years really enjoying life, and doing what they wished.

“For the next few years, they would work and enjoy their lives, knowing that at some point when the time was right, they would be husband and wife.”

And obviously, once they became husband and wife, things changed.

The marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton solidified the line of succession, meaning that eventually, the pair will become King and Queen.

So yeah, as soon as Kate walked down the aisle, things got serious.

But thankfully, they’ll always have those four years of fun!
