The public can now vote on the first bombshell to enter Love Island

Some big changes.

In its seven-year-long history, Love Island has not been afraid to shake things up with the odd twist every now and then, and this year is no different.

The winter edition of Love Island is set to kick off this Monday 16 January, and it will be back with a major twist.

For the first time ever, it will be up to the public to get to decide on the first bombshell to enter the villa.

The first choice is Ellie, a 25-year-old business development executive from Norwich. In her VT, she promises to shake things up if she is the first bombshell to go on, and she warns that the other girls will feel “threatened”.

“They are not going to know what’s hit them,” she says.

Ellie is a self-proclaimed wild child.

“You know when you have the mums of the group when you go out?” she says. “I’m the one swinging on the chandelier refusing to go home. I’m definitely a good time girl.”

As for what gives her the ick, Ellie says she’s not interested in over-confident or cocky lads.

23-year-old Tom, a footballer from Barnsley, is the other choice.

“Obviously if I’m the first bombshell to go into the villa, I’ll be buzzing,” he says. “If there is a girl I want and she is coupled up, then I will try my best to get that girl.”

In another video, he says that he will play the field, and that the director of his football club, Robbie Savage, has always calls him ‘Mr Love Island’.

As to whether or not he’s a player, he denies the label, but says that he definitely scores “on and off the pitch”.

Tom has been single for three months, and is coming out of a three-and-a-half-year long relationship with his ex-girlfriend.

“Enjoying single life, maybe a bit too much,” he says. “Single’s good for about a month, and then you’ve done it.”

He hopes that his Love Island journey will allow him to meet someone he can share holidays and Christmas with.

Fans can vote for the bombshell they want to enter the villa first until tomorrow night via the Love Island app, however viewers in Ireland cannot vote.
