Rami Malek ‘in final talks’ to play the next James Bond villain

No, not the next James Bond, as you were definitely led to believe when you first read the above headline.

Sorry lads, but if we misinterpreted the information when we read it for the first time, then you have to too.

Rami Malek just won an Oscar, which probably means that he has been inundated with offers from people to play various characters in their films.

Because he’s pretty good at that. The Academy said so.

And it seems like Rami’s first big role since the Oscar win has already landed because he’s apparently in final talks to playing the new James Bond villain.

Into it.

Entertainment site Collider reports that Malek’s schedule has been accommodated so he can star in both the final series of Mr Robot as well as Bond 25.

It was previously suggested that the US actor would not have been able to take the Bond role because of his commitments to the TV show, but now it’s looking incredibly likely that he’ll be able to do both.

Fair play to him.

While very little is known about what kind of character Malek will play, there have been a few rumours floating about that he’ll be a blind man.

Interesting enough flex, but OK.

Bond 25 is scheduled for release in April 2020, but the film has already hit a lot of delays since Danny Boyle dropped out of directing.

True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga will now direct the film.
