Their 12-year wedding anniversary would be on March 26th.
Actress Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth are divorcing after almost 12 years of marriage.
The Your Place or Mine actress confirmed the news this evening.
The pair issued a joint statement on Instagram.
"We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.
"We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together."
"Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter," they shared.
"These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone's respect for our family's privacy at this time."
A source has told People that they are still "the best of friends".
The pair's divorce is an "amicable decision".
They both want things to go as smoothly as possible for their family.
Both Reese and Jim have agreed to co-parent their son, Tennessee James.
Reese is also a mum to daughter Ava and son Deacon, whom she shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
