Before he was Sergeant David Budd, Richard Madden was Game of Thrones’ Robb Stark.
And while the 32-year-old actor hasn’t appeared on the show since season three (we’re still not over the Red Wedding, to be honest), it seems the final season has left him feeling a bit nostalgic.
Madden took to Instagram earlier this week to share a #TBT image from their first read through of season one’s first episode.
The photo shows a fresh-faced Kit Harington, Alfie Allen and Richard Madden visiting the Wheel of Belfast “about 10 years ago.”
He captioned the photo:
“#TBT This is Kit, Alfie and I after our first read through of S1 Ep1 of Game of Thrones about 10 years ago. KIDZ.”

The throwback comes soon after director David Nutter teased there’s a scene as brutal as the Red Wedding – which saw Robb, Catelyn Stark and Talisa Stark brutally murdered – in season 8.
Nutter, who directed season three’s The Rains of Castamere, was asked if there was the same level of carnage in store in the upcoming final season.
Metro.co.uk asked him if viewers should brace themselves for something similarly surprising and shocking – and his answer has us a bit nervous, if we’re being totally honest.
“The short answer is – yes,” he said.
Very short and to the point, obviously to keep giving away any spoilers. But how could there be anything else that would match the levels of the Red Wedding?!
