Richard Madden looks totally unrecognisable in this childhood throwback photo

Richard Madden sent his fans into a frenzy as he shared an adorable throwback photo from his school days.

The actor is best known for his roles in the BBC’s Bodyguard and Game of Thrones – as well as being the favourite to take over the role of 007 from Daniel Craig.

And early on Thursday, he delighted fans as he shared the throwback picture from his school days – and, honestly, we never would have guessed it was him.

The picture shows a 12-year-old Madden beaming at the camera, wearing a black blazer, white shirt, a striped tie and a much shorter ‘do.

Alongside a tongue-in-cheek #nofilter, he captioned the photo: “Tb to me 20 years ago.”

It comes as the Scottish actor told how he had been bullied by his peers when he was growing up, and that he didn’t have the best time in school.

He told GQ

“My high school was really rough. Growing up was just constant humiliation really.

“I went to youth theatre to try and get a bit more confidence.

“In hindsight maybe not the best move to try and fit into a rough, very masculine school to say, ‘Now I do song and dance!'”

He added that the effect of being bullied “is still a huge hangover” around him.
